In 1998, the Nobel Prize was awarded to three Americans  (Robert Furchgott, Ferid Murad and Louis Ignarro) for their work in the discovery of Nitric Oxide as a key messenger in the cardiovascular system.  They had discovered that several important functions relating to the health of the lining of the arteries were initiated by Nitric Oxide signals.  They had also found that Nitric Oxide was produced in the cells that line the arteries (endothelium).

 

Further study has lead to greater understanding of the role of Nitric Oxide and the diseases created when its function is disturbed.  The following diagram shows some of the functions of nitric oxide in preserving proper function of all the arteries in the body. 

 

Firstly, the presence of Nitric Oxide allows arteries to dilate easily (vasodilatation) and provide necessary nutrients to tissues.  Without Nitric Oxide arteries constrict and require a higher blood pressure to maintain adequate blood flow to the tissues.  In addition, lack of Nitric Oxide results in an increase in the numbers of muscle cells (smooth muscle cell proliferation) which may result in higher blood pressure.

 

Secondly, Nitric Oxide reduces the stickiness of platelets, the blood elements that initiate blood clots.  Without Nitric Oxide, platelets are more sticky and blood clotting occurs more easily.  This can result in heart attacks, strokes and blood clots in the legs and pelvis which can migrate to the lungs.

 

Thirdly, Nitric Oxide reduces the stickiness of monocytes, a type of white blood cell which acts as a scavenger.  These cells pick up debris from vessel injury and oxidized LDL cholesterol which is not soluble in blood.  When these cells become sticky (adherent) they can stick to the lining of the blood vessel and enter the blood vessel wall.  Here they become an important component of plaque which can block arteries.

 

Fourthly, Nitric Oxide suppresses oxidation of LDL cholesterol.  When LDL cholesterol is oxidized it no longer floats in the blood stream, but drops out as a solid substance and is picked up by monocytes.  This process can start or add to plaque.

 

Fifthly, when production of Nitric Oxide is inhibited by high levels of ADMA (see the following pages), production of superoxide radicals increases.  This can cause damage to DNA and oxidize LDL cholesterol, once again adding to the production of plaque.

 

In addition to its benefits to the endothelium, Nitric Oxide also stimulates growth hormone production.  This tends to favor a body composition with reduced fat and more muscle.

 

                       

How Is Nitric Oxide Made?

 

Nitric Oxide is made from an amino acid called L-arginine.  Hundreds of amino acids are linked together to form proteins.  When we eat proteins, they are broken down into individual amino acids and absorbed into the blood stream.  In the body they are used to make new proteins or in the case of l-arginine, they can be used to make other substances.

 

Once it is in the blood stream, l-arginine is taken up by an enzyme in the endothelium called Nitric Oxide Synthase (NO Synthase).  This enzyme combines the l-arginine with oxygen (O2) producing Nitric Oxide.

 

 

With adequate amounts of L-arginine in the diet combined with normal levels of Nitric Oxide Synthase and oxygen, there should never be a deficiency of Nitric Oxide in the blood vessels, except:

 

 

ADMA, the Central Link in Cardiovascular Disease

 

There is a constant process of protein production and protein destruction occurring in our bodies at any given time.  Normally, the kidney is programmed to recognize amino acids and to save them, not allowing them to be excreted in the urine.  There are times, however, like when we are ill, when the rate of breakdown of proteins is much higher than the rate of production.  Since too many amino acids in the blood stream can make us very ill, the enzymes that break down protein tack on one or more messenger substances which fool the kidney and allow these “old” amino acids to be removed.

 

This messenger substance is called a “methyl group”  It is basically a carbon atom attached to three hydrogen atoms which is substituted for one of the hydrogen atoms attached to the nitrogen atom at the end of the amino acid.  With this methyl group in place, the kidney is permitted to get rid of the “old” amino acid. 

 

If the levels of normal amino acids are not too high, the “methylated” amino acids are recycled by special enzymes in the liver which remove the methyl groups. 

 

During the normal breakdown of protein, which occurs in every cell of the body, l-arginine, present in almost all protein, is changed chemically into a substance called ADMA (asymmetric dimethyl arginine).  This is accomplished by adding two methyl groups to the end of the l-arginine molecule.

 

 

 

How Does ADMA Affect Nitric Oxide?

 

Experimental studies in various laboratories around the globe have shown that ADMA inhibits Nitric Oxide production.  The inhibition of Nitric Oxide production has been demonstrated to be concentration-dependent.  This means that when the ADMA level increases and l-arginine levels remain the same, the production of Nitric Oxide decreases.  The reverse is also true.  If l-arginine levels are increased with dietary supplementation, the production of Nitric Oxide is restored and the effect of a high ADMA level is reduced or eliminated. 

 

L-arginine fits into a specific binding site on the Nitric Oxide Synthase enzyme.  This is mainly because of its shape (like a peg in the proper hole).  Because ADMA is structurally similar to the l-arginine, it is also attracted to the same binding site.  When ADMA levels increase, they compete with L-arginine for this binding site on the Nitric Oxide Synthase enzyme.

 

When ADMA occupies the L-arginine binding site, the methyl groups prevent the release of the nitrogen atom which must combine with oxygen to form Nitric Oxide.  As a result, Nitric Oxide cannot be produced.  This results in a loss of the protection which Nitric Oxide normally gives to the endothelium.

 

But there is more bad news!!  Not only does the Nitric Oxide not get made, but in its effort to make the reaction happen, the enzyme gives an electron to the oxygen molecule, creating a Superoxide Radical.  This highly reactive substance can interact with and change many compounds including DNA (increasing the risk for cancer) and LDL-cholesterol (producing plaque).

 

 

The Role of ADMA

 

In the early 1990s, ADMA was reported to inhibit Nitric Oxide synthesis.  Since that time the role of ADMA has studied by many groups of researchers throughout the world.  Many researchers today agree that ADMA plays a central role in the production and in the progression of cardiovascular diseases – specifically those marked by formation of plaque in the arteries (atherosclerosis).

Many clinical studies have demonstrated the presence of an independent relationship between blood levels of ADMA and the incidence of major cardiovascular events or death.  In Figure 6, several diseases have been highlighted in which elevations of ADMA are present.

 

The measurement of ADMA levels in serum or plasma of a person can provide evidence for risk of cardiovascular disease which goes beyond the information gained by evaluating traditional risk factors (high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglycerides, diabetes, family history of vascular disease).  In fact, the production of ADMA may be the mechanism by which these other factors exert their destructive potential.

What do you do in your first 24 hours in Network Marketing to have explosive success? What type of activities can you be involved with that will ensure a strong start and measurable (meaning you make money) results? We will cover exactly what you need to do, a shopping list, if you will, of the activities that will secure you on the path to fast and solid success.

Do not let the simplicity of this list fool you. You must apply yourself to your business. You are strongly encouraged to treat this with professionalism and thought as this will be, if you permit it, the most significant financial and personal experience you have ever undertaken.

First I encourage you to read another article before you begin titled “Secret to Success: The Single Most Important Factor” (click here to view it). This article will empower you with some Personal Effectiveness Training (PETs) that will allow you to move forward with more strength and success.

So what must you do to have success in your first 24 hours? Well if you have already read the above article, as you have been encouraged to do, you will be well on your way. The following are steps that will allow you to have some amazing success.

1.       Dream Big Dreams

First, dare to make your dream big enough that you cannot accomplish it without the help of others. Only then will you have a dream that will keep you motivated to push through you own personal barriers. Having that kind of dream or goal will require you to treat others in a way that instills team work and partnership. In network marketing you must have team work in order to make the business work in a big way. (You should know that the Synergy compensation plan is centered on the whole concept of helping others be successful. This is called the Mega Match and you need to take the time to understand it, if you don’t already. It is incredibly powerful and after many years of experience and due diligence I can tell you it is the most powerful plan in the industry, period.) And remember, a dream (or goal) not written is only a wish. Write it down NOW.

 

2.       PETs

What are PETs? Personal Effectiveness Training. Here is an area people often overlook and it leads them to quick failure. How do you increase your PETs so that you can have massive success? By filling your mind with methods and systems that have been proven over a very long time to work. You do this by reading books and attending trainings. Here is a list of books, in order of importance, which you must read in order to be effective at recruiting people in your business.

3.       Level of Entry

What level of entry is best for you or your new recruit to come into the business? Each person needs to study their compensation plan and decide how to maximize the plan for a new distributor. Human nature drives some to manipulate new distributors into spending money that may not be in their best interest. Sometimes they require too much and sometimes too little. Understand your compensation plan so you can show others the options that are available to them. Then they need to make the best decision based upon their own set of circumstances. Remember this is not about you, this about others and what is best for them and their business plan. Help them make the best plan for success. For some that will be a $3,000 order (like a physician, health spa, etc.) for others it may be a 200CV order and for others it is a one product order as a customer.

 

As a business builder you will want to make sure your order is big enough. What is big enough? Think about what your needs are. You are starting a new business and you will need product to promote your business, product to use and product to help your new distributors get started while they wait for their order to arrive. Place a healthy order that meets your needs. If you have doctors or clinics that you will be introducing make sure you have enough ProArgi9 to have a successful first event. Remember this is a business and it requires some marketing tools too.

 

4.       Treat it like a Business

Why? Because it is a business. It is a big business. Especially for you and your family. Is making an extra few hundred a month important for you? How about a few thousand? What about tens of thousands? How about hundreds of thousands? You determine what kind of money you want it to make and your business will be that kind of business. But if you treat it like a hobby you will get a hobby result. In other words, how do you treat a business to make it successful? You show up at a specific time doing specific activities to get specific results. Make no mistake, in this business the correct activity is recruiting customers or distributors. Those are the only activities you should be involved in with your business for the first 180 days. Then it continues to be the most important activity for the remainder of your business! That is how you treat it like a business; recruit, recruit, recruit.

 

5.       Commit Yourself to the Events

Write down right now a statement from you that says you will commit to attend all events that you leadership team and the company has. And now find away to meet this requirement. Sometimes it will not be easy but it will pay off. Why do this? Because you need to increase your knowledge, your attendance will enlist the assistance of others in growing your business, attending shows your prospects you are serious about your business and you will keep the fire within constantly stoked by being around the flame of passionate and enthusiastic leaders.

 

6.       Build Your List

Start right now and list all the names of people you know. List people you work with or have worked with, people you have bought from, business associates, church members, community leaders and members, friends and family. Once you have built your list, rank them. Put an “A” next to the people you have influence over. Put a “B” next to the people who have influence over others and a “C” next to people you just know. Now go and spend your time with the “A” people. Are there people on this list that trust you? Of course, so call them and do them a favor and bring them into Synergy right now. As a customer at the very least. If you are any kind of a friend you need to make sure they are on our ProArgi9 product. You are cheating them by not doing that at the very least. And the truth is, by not inviting them into the business you are showing a real lack of belief in them and their abilities.  

 

7.       Exposure to the Message

First, how do you approach people? I always start by having a conversation with them about the things that are important to them. Usually that is work or family. I simple ask them a question about either. They most normally end up asking me about my work or family which allows me easy access to discuss my passion about Synergy products and business.

 

What is the first message you expose your prospects to? Why not give them the same message that caught your attention? Go to the person who is your sponsor and have them tell you what they did to get your interest. You now have a pretty effective approach for your first exposure. There are many ways you can expose somebody to the Synergy message. Many people will require multiple exposures to the message in different ways. Use what works best for the situation. What tools can you use? 8.       Invite Third Party Validation

Here is the most important tool to bring up the belief level in others far enough that they will want to join you. What can you do to validate to your prospect that what you are talking about is real and viable for them? There are number of ways to do this. The easiest thing to do is a three way call with your sponsor or upline leadership and your prospect. Use this call to invite them to a home meeting to be tested on the CPW. This business is built on home meetings. The first thing you should do when you become a distributor is plan a home meeting. Have your sponsor or upline leader present the business and test to your group of friends. You can also bring your friends (prospects) to the Synergy corporate fly in. This is a very powerful tool. But truthfully nothing validates the product like pure science. The CPW test is that, science. What is science? The ability to measure and compare. 9.       Follow-Up

In real estate they say its location, location, location. In network marketing it’s follow-up, follow-up, follow-up. If there is anything that is the most consistent break down in building a networking business it is the lack of follow up. If you do not call them back they will soon forget why they were interested in the first place. Do not be the one who lets your friends down by failing to follow-up. Call them back and invite them to join you, even if you have already invited them before. Really, you should demand that they take the product. They will thank you for it later.

 

10.   Sorting not Convincing

Remember this is a sorting business not a convincing business. That is the ultimate and only sale anybody should ever make. You only want people who want to be in your business. If you manipulate somebody into being a distributor in your business they will resent you for it and they will eventually quit. And then they will tell others about their bad experience because they will count their failure as your fault. Only bring in the willing. And many will be willing after you get them on the product or bring them to some third party validation event.

 

11.   Structuring Your Time

Now here is an important thing to remember. The only time you can count as “building your business” is when you are doing one of two activities. What are they? One, when you are bringing in a customer or two, when you are bringing in a new team member (distributor). All other activities (i.e. reading, training, being mentored, etc.) are not building your business. They are building you. Now they are important because you must have a high amount of PETs to be effective when you are talking to others. However the only time you can consider time you spent building your business is when you are finding customers or distributors. That’s it. So if you plan on spending 10 or 20 or more hours per week. Then set aside the time you will do the business. Do not let all the distractions of life get in your way. Plan those hours and work the plan, anything less will not allow you to achieve your goals. By following your plan, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals.

So start now, this minute and begin with step one. Following these steps in your first 24 hours will make you stand apart from others. Most people have good intentions to start soon. You however are not most people, are you? Prove to yourself right now that you are one of the different ones that makes success the only thing you allow.
